Parent Teacher Association (PTA)
If you think that a PTA or parent teachers association is a small group of parents and teachers who meet every now and then to plan cake sales, then you certainly haven’t met our enthusiastic and highly motived team of parents and teachers who meet at least once a month to plan upwards of 20 events, fundraisers or community projects.
The PTA goals are to
- Encourage and nature open communication and cooperation between staff pupils, parents and the school governing body
- To assess the needs of the school and to provide resources to ensure overall improvement of the teaching and learning environment.
- To fulfil this the PTA may raise funds, seek sponsorship/donations or be practically envoled through work teams, event helpers
- Maintain a working relationship with the SGB to ensure a shared-vision of the needs of the school and the priority of strategic planning.
- Promote effective communication through the system of class representatives. The class representatives form the core the association. The communication is further enriched by the headmaster attending all PTA meeting.
They can always be your first port of call for guidance and orientation in the new school environment.
